The Wheatsheaf is the perfect example of a village community-style pub, from having a drink with friends in the bar to watching live artists or a big match on the large TV screens. Live sports, including Sky & TNT, are featured.
A real village pub where customers feel part of the community and enjoy the pub for all occasions. The pub will need to trade with a successful rhythm of the week, including live sports, pub teams, entertainment, and great quality cask ales. Beer Festivals, Quizzes, Live Music, Pub Team Sports, and Seasonal Events also form part of the pub offer. Food is limited but should form part of the overall offer of the pub.
The successful applicant(s) will be outgoing, lively, personable, enthusiastic, and driven, and will be passionate about creating a special and welcoming pub within the community. They will need a good understanding of operating a community or high street pub and ideally experience in running events, utilising social media, maximising footfall for sporting events, booking live artists/bands, creating promotional/marketing plans, developing a simple food offering, and establishing a strong position within the community.
A personal licence is required alongside exceptional standards and knowledge of real ales, current trends, inc. (gin, craft ale, lager, wines, and cider).
